QS 9000 1998 / ISO 9001

ISO 9001 means we are Design Responsible. QS 9000 is a set of requirements compiled by the Automotive companies that an organisation must comply with and be certified to by a third party (NCSI) which means the organisation maintains a Quality Management System that is basically aimed at zero defects and continuous improvements.

Each automotive customer also have their own requirements that is part of QS 9000 that we must also comply with, these are called "Customer Specific" requirements and include such things as Ford Q1, QOS or Toyota Six S for success manual etc

We must maintain QS 9000 to ensure future business with all first tier Automotive Customers, this is a world recognised standard.

ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.

ISO 14001 is a world recognised set of standards that companies must comply with ensuring the organisations commitment to protecting the environment in which it operators, it is aimed at reducing significant impacts on the environment that the organisation may contribute to as part of its business.

This system must be certified by a registered third party (NCSI) to ensure we comply to these standards, the system also requires us to seek ways of improving efficiencies so as to minimise the use of materials and energies and the generation of waste and harmful emissions and where practicable to promote efficiency in packaging, recycling and reuse.

It also requires the organisation to comply with relevant environmental legislation and other relevant environmental requirements.
